Your agents run on a Mac at home: a Mac mini, a Mac Studio, or a notebook. Then you take the MacBook to the couch or onto the train, and the sessions stay behind on the other machine.

With Offsite, the MacBook joins the same host. On the Mac mini, open the host’s ⋯ menu and choose Add a Device…: it shows a QR code for an iPhone and the host code for another Mac. On the MacBook, open Offsite, choose Just Connect, type the code and connect. The whole board is there, every session live as it runs at home. When an agent asks, its card turns red on the Mac mini, the MacBook and the iPhone, and once you open it on one of them, it is cleared on all of them.

Tips

  • Already using Offsite on the MacBook? Choose + next to HOSTS, then Connect to Existing Host…, and type the code there.
  • A code works once and for about ten minutes. Right after a device used it, the sheet shows the next one, so each Mac and each iPhone pairs with its own.
  • Each device gets a key of its own. The host’s menu on the MacBook says since when it is authorized, and Revoke this device’s access… takes it back.
  • Notifications are set per device. Let the iPhone tap you while the MacBook stays quiet, or the other way round.
