The Command Bar
Chapters
A touch keyboard has no Esc, no Tab, no arrows and no Ctrl. A terminal needs every one of them, and most of what you do with an agent from your phone is answering: yes, no, option 2, Esc.
The Command Bar is the row above the keyboard of the iPhone app that puts those keys back. Each tool gets a bar of its own, so Claude, Codex, Grok and your shell show the keys they need, and the Command Center editor arranges them the way you like. Dictate a prompt, or hand the agent a photo, a document or a shot from your camera.
Tips
- Put the approve and deny keys for your agent’s permission prompts on the first row, so answering one is a single tap.
- Add Ctrl, Shift or Alt to a row, and the next key goes out combined:
CtrlthentisCtrl-T. - In Claude, Codex and Grok the keyboard’s Return starts a new line in your prompt. The bar’s Enter sends it.
- Esc stops the agent’s current turn and keeps the conversation.
- Dictation uses your own OpenAI API key, entered once in the app.
